EAST COAST MUSIC - POLICY GUIDELINES for all Kindermusik programmes
Making the most of Kindermusik classes
Please arrive approximately 5 minutes before your class start time and wait in the waiting area or if you are late please come quietly into the music room. Dress comfortably and plan to participate FULLY. You will both need to remove your shoes and socks before class. Please ensure your mobile phone is turned off during class time.
We do request that toys, drinks & dummies be kept out of sight, and that snacks be finished prior to class. Some children who attend class have life threatening allergies and can be affected by the smallest amounts of food.
Follow the Child
The Kindermusik philosophy is to FOLLOW THE CHILD. Your child will benefit more if you copy their ideas and participate fully yourself rather than force them to copy the Educator. Try to relax, focus on your child and enjoy making music with your little one!
If a group musical experience is new to your child it may take some time for them to feel totally at ease. Be assured that the repetition of Kindermusik routines and rituals will soon help your child feel secure and grow more confident over the course of the programme. Remember it is a programme not a casual class experience so you will gradually see many changes within your child over time if you are utilising your home materials at home and attending classes regularly.
Sibling Policy
Sibling babies under 1 year of age may attend class by special arrangement made with East Coast Music but they must remain either in a pram/stroller or in an adults arms at ALL times during class and will not be allowed to crawl/walk on the floor unattended for their own safety and for the safety and comfort of the enrolled children.
Older siblings are not permitted to attend class unless special permission has been granted by the Educator.
Missed Lessons
Lessons missed due to child sickness or holidays will be forfeited. A makeup class may be available only if you phone or text prior to your usual class and advise your absence. Please do not bring baby to class if they are unwell (If you are unsure please phone your Educator before the class). Cancellation of any lesson/s by the teacher will be rescheduled.
Holidays
Credits or discounts may be given at the discretion of East Coast Music if notification of holiday dates are given prior to the commencement date of the programme.
Refunds
Refunds of class fees may be requested due to a family move or serious illness necessitating withdrawing from class. Refunds cannot be given on home materials.
