East Coast Music offers individual piano, keyboard and singing tuition at their Capalaba studio, Brisbane.

"People often ask me what age their child should start formal piano lessons" says Joanne Davies, Director of East Coast Music.  "Generally children from around 7yrs are ready for private lessons on their instrument of choice (there are always exceptions to the rule and therefore you need to assess each child on an individual basis).  However, if you start formal training too early with your child it can be detrimental to a life-long enjoyment of music."  For this reason we offer children between 5-7yrs the Young Child programme in our studio.  

During the course of this 4 semester programme children learn to read and write music, learn about orchestral instrument families and music composers such as Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, etc play many songs on glockenspiel, dulcimer and recorder. We sing, dance and play musical games which culminate in a positive musical experience for the children. 

I also provide piano and voice tuition to give children a path forward when they have completed their Kindermusik programmes", says Joanne.
